Sonia Narang is a Los Angeles, California-based multimedia journalist who reports on maternal and reproductive health for Public Radio International’s The World, NPR News, the Washington Post’s The Lily, the BBC, and more.
Sonia has spent the past several years covering women’s health, contraception access, pregnancy, abortion, and issues that affect the lives of women and girls globally. She also covers how climate change impacts access to family planning and reproductive health services. In recent years, Sonia has reported stories in Kenya, India, Pakistan, Nepal, the Philippines, Indonesia, South Africa, Mozambique, the Navajo Nation in Arizona, and the South Pacific island of Fiji.
Sonia has received awards from the South Asian Journalists Association and Society of Environmental Journalists. She has a Master’s Degree in journalism from the University of California at Berkeley.
